Back in February, many Gen Zs were feeling stress, pressure, and anxiety from keeping up with social media, so much so that in our Front Row Insights & Strategy survey of 13-24s, 62% of Zs told us they recently took a social media detox or were planning to.
Cut to life in lockdown – lockdown has been the longest period that some Zs have gone without experiencing any social anxiety.
The Gen Z brands that navigate this next phase of the pandemic well will be the ones that consider and speak to the complexities here.
As much as Zs are looking forward to the easing of social restrictions, some aren’t yet ready or willing to jump back into the social lives they once had, either IRL or online.
