The pandemic is accelerating what had already been in motion in fashion (e.g., prior to the coronavirus pandemic we were following the shift to thrift – in a Front Row Insights & Strategy study we found that 43% of zs age 13-24 shopped thrift, 39% bought a used or second-hand item and 1 in 5 told us they made fewer purchases in order to reduce waste in the last 6 months of 2019).
Meanwhile, shopping through online resale sites such as poshmark, grailed, vestiaire collective and clothing rental sites all have seen a sales boost during lockdown.
